Dermal fillers are versatile injectables that can be used to enhance your facial features. At BevelUp, we offer a variety of dermal fillers that can not only be used as cheek, chin, and lip filler but also as an effective wrinkle treatment.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are cosmetic injectables that are used to plump up certain areas beneath your skin. Fillers not only add volume but also stimulate collagen production, which helps contour your face, smooth wrinkles and fine lines, and improve your overall appearance.
What Are Dermal Fillers Used for?
Dermal fillers can help your skin appear smoother by adding volume to certain areas of the face. They can be used to:
Correct wrinkles, including nasolabial folds and perioral lines
Combat loss of volume
Augment the lips, cheeks, chin, and hands
The results from dermal fillers are long-lasting but temporary, so you will need to schedule additional follow-up procedures to maintain your results.
Are There Different Types of Dermal Fillers?
Yes, there are different types of dermal fillers. Fillers can vary in their ingredients and formulations, which make them better suited to certain areas of the face and to target certain skin conditions.
Our team at BevelUp is well versed in a variety of fillers, so you can rest assured that you are getting the filler that is best suited to your skin. During your consultation, we will evaluate your current condition and aesthetic goals and recommend which type of dermal filler is right for you.
The Restylane Family
The Restylane family of dermal fillers all have hyaluronic acid gel formulas. In order to target different areas of your face, we offer the following Restylane fillers:
These fillers can be used as lip fillers or to smooth wrinkles and fine lines and add volume to the chin and cheeks. All of these fillers use XpresHAn Technology, so you’ll be able to make natural expressions while subtly enhancing your features.
The Juvéderm family offers versatile treatments to target different areas of the face. At BevelUp, we offer three different types of Juvéderm fillers: Juvéderm Voluma, Juvéderm Ultra, and Juvéderm Ultra Plus.
Juvéderm Voluma is designed for your cheeks and chin. When injected, this particular filler can contour and lift the cheeks and reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles, including nasolabial folds. It can also contour and shape your chin and create subtle changes to improve your chin profile.
Juvéderm Ultra is specifically designed to be used as a lip filler. Whether you desire a more subtle enhancement or a more substantial increase in volume, this type of dermal filler can deliver customizable results.
Juvéderm Ultra Plus is a thicker dermal filler designed to treat deeper facial wrinkles and creases. This filler has a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid particles, so it is particularly effective at targeting folds in your mid-face.
All three dermal fillers of the Juvéderm family deliver results that can last up to a year. Your exact results will depend on how your body responds to the ingredients found in Juvéderm.
Radiesse is a type of dermal filler used to stimulate your body’s natural collagen production. It is primarily made of calcium hydroxyapatite, an ingredient that causes your body to create more collagen when injected.
This type of dermal filler can be used to add volume that can reduce the appearance of:
You can expect your results to develop a few weeks after your treatment. Depending on how your body metabolizes the ingredients found in Radiesse, your results will last 12–18 months.
What Can I Expect from the Procedure?
During your consultation, we will examine the current condition of your skin, your medical history, and your desired aesthetic goals. We will use this information to determine which type of dermal filler will best meet your needs and mark the areas of your face where the injections will be placed.
This mapping process will ensure precise placement and will let you know what to expect during your procedure.
When you come in for your procedure, we will begin by cleansing the treatment areas. To maximize your comfort, we will then either inject or apply an anesthetic to numb the injection sites.
The injections themselves only take a matter of minutes. We will inject the filler, massage the area, and inject additional filler as needed. The entire process can take as little as 15 minutes but will depend on your particular treatment areas.
You will be able to see immediate changes following your procedure, but your optimal results will develop over time. Depending on the type of injectable used, you can expect your results to last anywhere from 6 to 12 months.
What Other Types of Injectables Are There?
Certain types of skin conditions require different types of injectables. In addition to dermal fillers, we also offer neuromodulators and fat loss injectables.
Botox / Dysport
Botox and Dysport are two types of neuromodulators. These are injectables used to treat wrinkles and fine lines. They work by temporarily disrupting communication between your muscles and nerve receptors, which stops your muscles from being able to contract and naturally smooths your wrinkles.
Neuromodulators are primarily used to target dynamic wrinkles, the type of wrinkles that form as a result of repeated facial expressions. These include wrinkles and fine lines on the forehead, eyebrows, eyes, and mouth.
Botox and Dysport have slightly different formulas that provide similar results. During your consultation, we will determine which type of neuromodulator will benefit you.
Kybella is a type of fat loss injectable. It destroys your fat cells and is particularly effective at targeting the area beneath your chin.
The main ingredient in Kybella, synthetic deoxycholic acid, breaks down fat cells so your body can flush them out. Kybella is a great minimally invasive option for patients looking for results similar to those you might get from liposuction.
